Synopsis: The 2009 Goodwood Revival brought together all of the glamour and romance of motor racing as it used to be, with a record 134,000 spectators enjoying three days of exciting wheel-to-wheel racing at the world’s largest and most authentic historic motor race meeting.The 2009 Revival saw many of the world’s most renowned racing names dicing in some of the rarest and most valuable historic racing machines. The who’s who of drivers racing included leading current Formula One influencers Adrian Newey and Christian Horner. Revival stalwarts included Sir Stirling Moss – celebrating his 80th birthday at the event – plus Derek Bell, Jochen Mass, Bobby Rahal and Eddie Cheever, as well as Goodwood newcomers Oliver Gavin and Danny Sullivan, who both put on a fine show for the racing fans. It’s a truly magical step back in time and a fabulous opportunity to revel in the halcyon days of motor racing at a circuit unchanged from its heyday.Visitors entered into the spirit of the event by dressing in period fashions, including start visitors such as astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Mr Bean, making his first ever live public appearance, driving from his armchair mounted on the roof of his Mini!
