Back in the days of power cuts and perms, the only way football fans could see the stars of the day on TV was through programmes like Saturday night’s Match of the Day and The Big Match on Sunday afternoon.
West Ham United were one of the pioneers of football’s style revolution in the 1970s and early 1980s, with World Cup legends Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters laying the foundations and the likes of Billy Bonds, Pop Robson and Frank Lampard picking up the baton. The West Ham Big Match features a number of great games from the period, including a memorable 3-0 home win over Manchester United in 1972 and a 5-0 Upton Park hammering of Newcastle United in 1979.
This DVD relives an era which has taken on legendary status.
